How to use the app
AudioBuffer is a rolling-buffer audio recorder. Rather than pressing record and hoping you caught the right moment, the app continuously holds the last N seconds of audio in memory. When something worth keeping happens, tap Save and that moment is yours.
On first launch, AudioBuffer will ask for access to your microphone. Tap Allow to enable recording. Without this permission the app cannot function. You can grant it later in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
The main screen shows a slide control in the center. Drag the thumb to the right until it latches to start buffering. The control turns red and pulses while active. Drag it back to stop.
While the buffer is running, a Save button is visible. Tap it at any time to capture the last N seconds of audio as a new clip. A brief confirmation overlay will appear at the top of the screen.
The clip length (how many seconds are captured on each save) is adjustable in Options — see Options below.
Tap the folder icon at the bottom of the main screen to open your clips. Tap any clip to expand it and reveal the playback controls. Tap Play to listen. Selecting a different clip will automatically stop any clip currently playing.
Open the clip list, expand a clip, and tap the pencil icon (or long-press the clip and choose Edit). The edit view shows the full waveform with two drag handles on either end:
In the edit view, tap the clip name at the top to rename it.
Tap the gear icon on the main screen to open Options.
Sets how many seconds of audio are captured each time you tap Save. Range: 15 – 300 seconds. Default: 30 seconds.
Choose between Dark, Light, or Auto (follows your device's system setting).
When enabled, a live waveform visualization plays behind the recording control while the buffer is active. Use the Gain slider to make the waveform larger or smaller. Turn this off if you prefer a quieter interface or want to save battery.
